After that Santa Cruz-accomodation.   The “short travel participants” have a long-distance competition and Buenos Aires-sightseeing before accomodation at Hotel Republica.   On Thursday 17th Dec the “long travel participants” flySanta Cruz–Lima–Cuzco08.00 – 09.37 and 11.30 – 12.45. Cuzcois situated3.400 metersabout sea level, so take it easy during the first 3 hours in order to achieve a proper acclimatization to the altitude. In the afternoon we visit the city to know the Plaza de Armas, the same that was drawn by the founder of the Inca Empire, which is currently surrounded by three types of architecture: Inca palace – colonial houses – Construction Republican; Cathedral where are paintings of the Cuzco school and the Renaissance and the Koricancha, complex dedicated to the “Sun”, the main god of the Inca Empire.   The “short travel paricipants” can use the whole day for sightseeing or “fly home” earlier, if they wish so.   On Friday 18th Dec the “long travel participants” have a full day excursion to Machu Pichu archaeological complex, located in a subtropicalCuzcoarea at2.350 m.   The “short travel participants” fly from Buenos International airport, toCopenhagen14.20 o´clock.   On Saturday 19th Dec the “long travel participants” have a sprint competition atCuzco. Accomodation during 3 nights at hotel Monte Carlo inSantiago   On Sunday 20th Dec travel to San Vincente Tagua Tagua – about150 kmsouth ofSantiago– and orienteering-competition there.   On Monday 21st Dec travel to “Lago Penuelas”-map (made by the Chris Terkelsen and Jakob Ödum fromDenmark) and competition there. After lunch we visit Isla Negra, a black resort, that owes its name (Black Isle) because of its sands of dark colour. There we will also visit the house of Pablo Neruda - Nobel Prize winner in literature 1971. The house is now a museum.
